Apologizing for a Hurtful Joke

I want to genuinely apologize for the joke I made. It was thoughtless and crossed a line, and I can see how it hurt you. I should have been more sensitive to your feelings, and I’m really sorry for making you feel uncomfortable or disrespected in any way. I realize now that humor can be tricky, and I should have considered how my words would affect you. You mean so much to me, and the last thing I want is to hurt you or make you feel less valued. I truly regret not thinking it through before I spoke. To make things right, I’m committing to being more mindful of my words and actions in the future. I want to build a space between us where you feel safe and respected, without fear of me being careless.
