I wasn't being clever or playful; I was careless with your feelings. I understand that trust is built on consistency and respect, and my words chipped away at that. I take full responsibility for letting a stupid joke speak louder than the love and commitment I feel for you. To make this right, I won't make those kinds of jokes again. I will be more thoughtful about what I say, especially about things that touch on trust or our relationship.
