I'm so sorry I wasn't emotionally available when you needed me. I know I left you feeling alone and like your feelings didn't matter, and that hurts me deeply. I take full responsibility for choosing whatever I was doing over being present for you.
I understand that when you reached out you were looking for support, reassurance, and to be heard—not a half-hearted response or silence. By being unavailable I dismissed your moment of vulnerability and damaged the trust between us. I can't change that hurt, but I want you to know I see it clearly and I'm truly remorseful.
I will do better. Practically, I will set clearer boundaries around my time so I won't let other things swallow the moments when you need me. If I'm unable to respond right away I will send a quick message saying I need a minute and when I'll be back. I will check in more often about how you're feeling and ask what kind of support you want in those moments. If I need help managing my own stress so I can show up for you, I'll get that help instead of shutting down.
I care about you and about repairing this. I understand if you need space or time to process; I'm not asking you to forgive me right away. When you're ready, I want to listen to how this affected you and work together on rebuilding trust. I love you and I want to be someone you can rely on.
Make it yours
