Saying 67 and Upsetting You

I’m really sorry for what I said earlier with the “67” comment. I realize now how it came across as dismissive and thoughtless, and I never meant to upset you or make you feel unimportant. I can see how that number, out of nowhere, might have felt like I wasn’t paying attention to what you were saying or how you were feeling, and that’s on me. I take full responsibility for not choosing my words more carefully and for not being more present in the moment with you. You deserve my full respect and attention, especially when we’re talking about things that matter to you. I want to do better at listening and showing that I truly value your thoughts and feelings. Moving forward, I’m going to be more mindful about how I respond, making sure I’m really hearing you and not just reacting without thinking. If I ever say something that bothers you again, please tell me right away—I want to understand and fix it before it grows into something bigger. Whenever you feel ready, I’d like to talk about this more so I can better understand what you need from me and how I can support you. But I also respect if you need some space first. Just know that I’m here, and I care deeply about making this right between us.
