Misunderstanding Care During Your Illness

I’m really sorry for the way I acted when you were sick. Looking back, I see how it must have felt like I didn’t care or wasn’t there for you, and that breaks my heart because nothing could be further from the truth. I didn’t show my love and concern the way you needed me to, and I take full responsibility for that. You deserved to feel supported and cherished, especially when you were vulnerable, and I failed to give you that. I realize now that my silence or distance might have made you question how much I care, and I hate that I caused you that pain. You mean everything to me, and I want you to know that your well-being is always my priority, even if I didn’t express it well this time. Moving forward, I’m going to be more mindful about showing up for you in the ways that matter, especially when you’re not feeling your best. I want to listen better, check in more often, and make sure you never feel alone in this. Please know I’m here whenever you want to talk about how you felt or what you need from me. I’m ready to listen and learn. Take all the time you need—I just want to make this right between us.
