I thought I was being funny, but clearly, I misjudged the situation, and I can see how my joke about the inappropriate content didn’t land well at all. You deserve better than to feel disrespected or hurt by something I said in a moment of thoughtlessness. I completely understand why you’re angry, and it was never my intention to make you uncomfortable or to take our conversation down that road. I realize now that my attempt at humor crossed a line, and I’m genuinely regretful for that. You mean a lot to me, and I hate that my words caused you any distress. Moving forward, I promise to be more mindful about what I say, especially in situations where it could be taken the wrong way. I want to create a safe and supportive space for both of us where we can joke around without any misunderstandings. I really hope we can talk about this when you’re ready.
