I’m really sorry for completely dropping the ball on Valentine’s Day this year. You took the time and effort to write me a letter, something thoughtful and meaningful, and I didn’t even have the presence of mind to do anything in return. I can only imagine how hurt and disappointed that must have made you feel, especially knowing how much you put into it. There’s no excuse for forgetting something so important to you—and to us. I should have been more present, more thoughtful, and frankly, less spacey. You deserved better, and I want you to know that I’m owning this mistake fully. I hate that I made you feel unappreciated or overlooked. To make it right, I’m going to plan a proper date night—something just for us, where I can show you how much you mean to me beyond just words on a card. And I’m setting a reminder (yes, with alarms) so this never happens again. You deserve my attention and care every day, not just on a holiday.
