Lying and Losing Trust Through Disrespect

I'm sorry for lying to you and for speaking to you with disrespect. I know those choices hurt you, made you doubt me, and led you to say I don't love you — and hearing that from you is something I take very seriously. I take full responsibility for hiding the truth and for the tone I used. There is no excuse for being dishonest or for dismissing your feelings when you were trying to understand what was happening. I understand that my actions damaged the trust between us and left you feeling disrespected, disappointed, and unimportant. I love you, and I know words alone won't fix this. To make things right, I will be completely honest going forward: I will answer your questions openly, share what I’m doing and why, and not avoid difficult conversations. I will also work with a counselor to address the behavior that led me to lie and be disrespectful, so I can change how I respond under stress. I will accept whatever time and distance you need while showing consistent, reliable actions to rebuild trust. I understand if you need space or if you're not ready to talk. When you are ready, I am prepared to listen without defending myself and to do the work to rebuild what I broke. I love you and I want to earn back your trust.
