Overreacting to Your Silence During Your Trip

I'm sorry for overreacting and for how I responded when you were on your trip. I said you were being self-centered and got furious when you didn't text for a few days, and I know those words and that tone hurt you. I own that completely. I understand now that you didn't have a charger and were busy or resting, and that my pushiness probably felt like pressure or accusation. Instead of trusting you and giving you space, I let my anxiety take over and put the blame on you. That was unfair and made you feel blamed and controlled when you needed understanding. I want to be better. Specifically, I will work on pausing before I text when I feel anxious, and I’ll remind myself that silence from you in those situations usually isn’t about me. If it's okay with you, I'd like to agree on a simple check-in option for trips—one short message you’re comfortable with or a time I can expect an update—so I don't spiral. I’ll also practice breathing or stepping away from my phone instead of sending multiple messages. I’m truly sorry for the hurt I caused and for making you feel criticized while you were away.
