Going Out Without Telling You

I'm so sorry I went out without telling you. I should have checked in before I left and kept you in the loop, and I know that my silence made you feel unimportant and worried. That was thoughtless and disrespectful to how we care for each other. I take full responsibility for not communicating. There is no excuse for disappearing from your day or for leaving you wondering where I was and why I hadn’t told you. I understand that when I don't share plans it undermines the trust between us and makes you feel like your feelings and time don't matter — and I hate that I put you in that position. I want to do better. From now on I will tell you when I’m going out, even if it’s just a quick text, and I’ll let you know if plans change. If it helps, I’ll send a quick ETA or check in during longer outings. I’ll also pause and ask myself whether I’m valuing our connection the way I say I do. I know actions matter more than words, so I’ll follow through. If you’re open to it, I’d like to hear how this felt for you and what would make you feel safer and respected going forward.
