I'm sorry I fell asleep without telling you. I know I left you hanging and that's disrespectful to your time and feelings. You deserved to know I was going to rest instead of wondering if I was ignoring you or had forgotten. I take full responsibility for not sending a quick message or giving you a heads-up. That was my mistake. Even if it wasn't deliberate, my not telling you made you feel unimportant and possibly worried, and I'm truly sorry for that. I could have handled it better and I should have. To make sure this doesn't happen again, I'll keep my phone within reach and send a quick message when I feel tired, or set a short alarm to remind me to check in. If I'm too tired to text, I'll say so before I lie down. I want you to feel seen and respected, not like an afterthought.
