Causing Toaster Explosion Apology

I’m really sorry about what happened with my toaster. I can’t believe it exploded and caused such a mess—especially because I invited you over to enjoy breakfast together. I know that must have been frustrating and probably a bit scary, and I feel terrible that my kitchen mishap ruined our time. I want you to know I take full responsibility for not checking the toaster beforehand. It was careless, and I should have ensured it was safe to use. I completely understand how disruptive this was to our plans and how it might have made you feel uncertain about coming over again. To make things right, I’m going to replace the toaster with one that I know is reliable and safe. I’ll also make sure to double-check everything before our next get-together. More than anything, I truly value our friendship, and I hate that an appliance mishap put a damper on our time together. Please know that I’m here to listen if you want to talk about it.
