Betraying Your Trust by Befriending an Enemy

I’m really sorry for going out with someone who’s not only your enemy but has also hurt you. I see now how that must have felt like a total betrayal, especially since you’ve always had my back. It was thoughtless of me, and I completely understand why you’re upset. I didn’t think about how my choice would impact you at all, and I regret that my actions have made you feel disrespected and hurt. I want you to know that I take full responsibility for that. I should have considered your feelings before deciding to hang out with them, and I didn’t. I value our friendship so much, and I can understand if you need some time to process this. I promise to be more mindful about the people I choose to spend time with in the future, especially when it involves someone who’s caused you pain. If you’re open to it, I’d love to talk about this more when you’re ready. Your feelings matter to me, and I want to make things right between us. Again, I’m truly sorry for my actions and the hurt they’ve caused.
