Saying Hurtful Words to a Friend

I’m really sorry for saying "shut up" the other day. I realize now that those words were hurtful and completely uncalled for, and I can only imagine how they made you feel. It was thoughtless of me, and I never want to disrespect you or make you feel small. I understand that our conversations are supposed to be a safe space where we can talk openly, and my comment broke that trust. I value our friendship so much, and it’s painful to think that I’ve caused you sadness. You deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, and I regret not giving you that. Moving forward, I promise to be more mindful of my words and to choose them carefully—especially when we're having discussions that matter. I want to create an environment where we can both feel valued and heard. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to do to make this right, please let me know. I know you might need some time to process this, and I totally respect that. I’m here whenever you feel ready to talk. Thank you for being such a great friend, even when I mess up.
