I’m really sorry for how I’ve acted and for not being the son you deserve. I know I’ve let you down, and it breaks my heart to think about how my actions have hurt you. I haven’t been present or supportive, and I can only imagine how that has made you feel. I wish I could take back the moments where I didn’t listen, when I was distant, or when I let my own frustrations get in the way of our relationship. You’ve always been there for me, and I haven’t always appreciated it like I should have. I genuinely want to do better. I want to repair what’s been broken between us. I promise to make more of an effort to communicate, to show you that I care, and to be the son you can rely on. I can’t change the past, but I’m committed to making a real effort moving forward. I understand if you need time to process this. I hope we can talk when you’re ready, and I really hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. I love you, Dad, and I want us to have the relationship we both deserve.
