Pretending To Watch While Playing A Game

I'm sorry I lied about watching when I said I was completely paying attention while I was actually in a game. I promised you I was watching and I didn't keep that promise, and I'm sorry for breaking your trust. I should have told you the truth instead of pretending because I didn't know how to say I didn't want to watch. That was on me. I can see how my lying made you feel dismissed and unsure you can count on me. I imagine it hurt and made you question whether I value what matters to you. I hate that I caused you that doubt. I take full responsibility — there are no excuses for choosing an easy lie over being honest with you. To make this right, I will be honest going forward: if I’m not up for watching something or I need to focus on a game, I will tell you straight away. I’ll check in about what you need when we plan to watch stuff together so we don’t end up on different pages. If it helps, I’ll suggest specific times for us to watch together or text you when I can’t really pay attention. I care about rebuilding trust and hearing what you need from me.
