Misunderstanding Over Chocolate Gift

I’m really sorry for how I reacted when you showed me the chocolate. Instead of just appreciating it, I jumped to a wrong conclusion and asked who gave it to you, and I see now how that must have hurt you. I didn’t mean to make you feel accused or mistrusted, but I realize my words and tone probably made you feel exactly that. That was unfair to you, and I’m truly sorry. I want you to know I take full responsibility for letting my insecurities get the best of me in that moment. You didn’t deserve to be questioned like that, especially over something so sweet and thoughtful from you. I understand how my reaction could have made you feel disrespected and doubted, and the last thing I want is to damage the trust between us. Moving forward, I’m going to work on catching myself before jumping to conclusions and remind myself to trust you and communicate better instead of reacting out of fear or jealousy. You mean so much to me, and I want to be the partner you can always feel safe with. Whenever you’re ready, I’d really like to talk about this and hear how you felt. No pressure at all—I just want to make sure we’re okay and that I’m doing better by you. Thank you for your patience with me.
