Apologizing for Misunderstanding

I want to start by saying I’m truly sorry for how things went down. I know I said it wasn’t my mistake, but I realize now that doesn’t change how it made you feel, and that’s on me. I never meant to hurt you or make you feel unimportant, but I see that’s exactly what happened, and I’m sorry for that. I’ve been thinking a lot about how my words and actions affected you—how it might have made you feel dismissed or alone in this. That’s the last thing I want in our marriage. I take full responsibility for not handling the situation better and for not seeing your perspective clearly in the moment. Moving forward, I want to be more aware of how I communicate, especially when we disagree. I’m going to work on listening more carefully and making sure you feel heard and valued, no matter what. You deserve that from me. I don’t expect things to fix overnight, and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk or share what you’re feeling. I love you, and I want us to get through this together. Whenever you feel up to it, I’m ready to listen.
