I’m really sorry for the way I’ve acted lately. I know I’ve been a jerk, and I can only imagine how hurt and frustrated that’s made you feel. It’s painful to think that my words and actions have put a strain on our relationship, especially when all I ever want is for us to be close and happy together. I’ve been caught up in my own issues and let that affect how I treat you. I realize that I’ve dismissed your feelings and that must have made you feel unvalued and alone.
