I’m so sorry for what I did—I betrayed your trust in the worst possible way by being with your mom. I can’t imagine the pain and confusion this has caused you, and I’m deeply ashamed of how I hurt you. You didn’t deserve this, not from me, and certainly not from anyone you should be able to trust. There’s no excuse for what I did. I take full responsibility for my actions and the damage they’ve caused to our relationship. I understand if you feel anger, betrayal, or heartbreak—those feelings are completely valid, and I’m not asking for forgiveness right now. I just want you to know how truly sorry I am, not just for what happened but for the way it has affected you personally. I’m committed to being honest with you moving forward, whatever that looks like, and to doing the hard work to understand why I made such a terrible choice. I want to make amends, even if that means giving you space or answering any questions you have, no matter how difficult. If you’re willing, I’m here to listen and talk whenever you feel ready.
