I'm sorry for the ways I let you down — for breaking promises, pulling away when you needed me, and making you feel ignored and unimportant. I know my choices hurt you and damaged the trust we built, and that is entirely on me. I understand that when I said I would be there and then didn't follow through, you felt dismissed and unsafe bringing your feelings to me. When I shut down instead of listening, I made you carry the emotional weight alone. I take full responsibility for those moments and for the hurtful words I used when I was frustrated. I will not make excuses for my behavior. I was wrong, and I am committed to changing. To show that, I will start by setting real boundaries with work and my phone so I can be present; I will check in with you every week and actually listen without defending myself; I will be honest about my mistakes and keep you informed when I stumble. I am also willing to go to counseling, alone or together, if you want that. Most importantly, I will let my actions match my words consistently over time. I know asking for a second chance is big, and I respect whatever you need — time, space, or a pause. If and when you want to talk about any of this, I'm here and ready to listen. I love you and I'm sorry for breaking the trust you placed in me.
