Causing Humiliation and Hurting Your Dignity

Heizel, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I said the other day, and I want to say I’m really sorry. I know my words came out wrong and ended up embarrassing you, and that wasn’t okay. I can only imagine how that made you feel—like your dignity was taken away in front of others—and I hate that I put you through that. There’s no excuse for what I said, and I take full responsibility. I let my frustration get the better of me, and instead of talking it through, I just blurted something hurtful. You didn’t deserve that, especially not from me. I want you to know I’m going to be more mindful about how I express myself, especially around you. If I’m upset or frustrated, I’ll take a step back before saying anything that could hurt you or make you feel small. You mean a lot to me, and the last thing I want is to damage our friendship. Whenever you’re ready, I’d really like to talk more about this or just hang out and move past it. No pressure at all—I respect whatever space you need. Just know I’m here, and I want to make things right. Thanks for hearing me out.
