Making an Inappropriate Comparison and Neglecting Work

I want to start by sincerely apologizing for comparing you to a fat seal. It was disrespectful and thoughtless, and I deeply regret my choice of words. I realize that not only was it hurtful, but it undermined the trust and respect that you’ve worked hard to build as our coach. I understand that comments like mine can make you feel belittled and unappreciated for all the effort you put into our team. You care about us and dedicate your time to help us improve, and I’m sorry for taking that for granted. My behavior not only disrespected you but also distracted the team from the goals we’re trying to achieve together. Moving forward, I’m committed to holding myself to a higher standard. I plan to focus on being a more supportive teammate and will actively work on my contributions. I also want to ensure that I create a positive environment for everyone, including you, because you deserve that from all of us. I understand if you need time to process this, but I hope we can talk this through when you feel ready.
