Misunderstanding Your Privacy Concerns

I was cruel to you when you were being vulnerable, and I'm sorry. You came to me with a legitimate concern about your privacy, and instead of listening, I twisted your words into something they weren't. I kept saying you didn't trust me — not because you said that, but because I was hurt and defensive. That was unfair to you.

I shouldn't have spoken to you like that, especially not the things I said at the end. You didn't deserve rudeness for trying to communicate something that mattered to you. You had every right to express that concern, and I should have heard it with care instead of turning it into a fight about me.

My upset doesn't excuse how I treated you. I know that now. I want to do better — to actually listen next time instead of assuming the worst. You deserve that from me.
