Speaking to You with Cruelty and Contempt
Dear Vishwa,
I was cruel to you, and I'm sorry. I said harsh things—wrapped them up as jokes, excused them with anger—but that doesn't make them any less hurtful. I knew what I was doing when I said them, and I did it anyway. That's on me.
You didn't deserve to be spoken to like that. You didn't deserve to have your feelings dismissed or to feel like I was using you as a target for my anger. I can see how much my words hurt you, and I hate that I did that.
I want to be better with you than I was in that moment. Not just in what I say going forward, but in how I show up when I'm angry or frustrated—which means not turning that on you. You deserve better from me, and I want to earn back your trust.
