I was thoughtless when I made fun of that photo you sent me, and I hate that it hurt you. I didn't think before I spoke — I was just being stupid and casual about something that clearly mattered to you. That wasn't fair, and I'm genuinely sorry.

You trusted me enough to share something with me, and instead of being kind, I turned it into a joke. I can see now why you got angry, and you had every right to. I should have known better.
