Not Listening, Only Hurting You
To Meri jaan Zohra,
I've been thinking about everything, and I need to say this clearly: the fault was mine. I didn't listen to you—I just heard what I wanted to hear, twisted your words into something wrong, and gave you negativity when all you needed was for me to actually listen. I made you feel alone when you were asking for the simplest thing—to be understood.
You were never wrong, Zohra. Not once. And I'm sorry for making you carry that weight, for adding stress when you needed peace. I see it now, and I hate that it took me this long.
From now on, I'm going to listen first. Really listen. Then I'll try to understand. Only then will I speak. I want to be the person who gives you calm, not chaos. I want to rebuild what I broke.
I know I'm asking for something I might not deserve, but please—give me one more chance. I can't lose you. You mean everything to me, and I promise you'll see the difference. Dil se, Zohra. I mean every word.
