Hurting You When I Should Have Listened

I've been thinking about what happened between us, and I need to say this clearly: I'm sorry for how I treated you. I was hurt and let that become an excuse to hurt you back, and that wasn't fair. You didn't deserve that.

I wasn't thoughtful. I didn't try to understand your side, and I definitely didn't do anything to fix it — I just let it sit there, broken. That was wrong of me. You mattered more than being right, and I should have shown you that.

I'm sorry for not being there for you the way you needed me to be. I want to do better, and I want to actually listen and work through things with you, not just react. You mean too much to me to keep doing this.
