Missing Your Call When You Needed Me

Filed on the record · By the undersigned

I hate that I wasn't there when you called. I know how rare and precious our time already is, and how much those long conversations mean to both of us. You reached out and I wasn't available—and that's on me. I'm genuinely sorry.

I understand how it feels to need someone and have them unreachable. We already don't have enough moments together, and I don't want to be the reason we lose more of them. That matters to me more than whatever was keeping me busy.

I'm going to do better about being present for your calls, no matter what's happening. I miss talking to you too. I miss us. And I want to show you that by actually being there when you need me.
