An apology

For Not Looking at You When You Spoke

To komal ji,

I wasn't present with you the way I should have been. When you were talking to me, I looked away, and I know that made you feel like I wasn't really listening—like you didn't matter in that moment. That hurt you, and I hate that I did that.

You deserve to feel seen and heard, especially by me. You matter to me. I'm sorry for letting my attention slip and for making you feel anything less than valued. I want to do better—to look at you, to really listen, to show you that you have my full heart when we're together.

Thank you for telling me how it made you feel. I'm going to be more mindful, and I promise to give you the presence you deserve.
