Saying Goodbye When I Should Have Stayed
Dear Khushbu,
I said goodbye to you for no real reason, and I need you to know how much I regret that. There was no fight, no breaking point—just me pulling away when I should have held on. I wasn't angry at you. I wasn't even sure what I was doing until after I'd done it, and by then the damage was already there.
You didn't deserve that. You deserved me to talk to you, to be honest about what I was feeling, to try instead of just leaving. I was scared or stuck or something I still don't have words for, and I let that become your problem to carry.
I want to come back from this. Not pretending it didn't happen, but actually showing up differently—being present, being real with you about what's hard, not disappearing when things get complicated. You matter too much to me to do that again.
